Four-sided seal packaging (4SS) is applied when thin products are packed in a sterile barrier system. For example plasters, dressings for wound treatment, minimally invasive tubes or suture material in the area of medical devices, but also collagen bandages.

Hence individual requirements determine the selection of the materials, such as coated and uncoated papers, Tyvek®, or laminates and films.
