Company History of VP

1896VP is founded in Munich by Hubert Kurz and Carl Eger.
1902VP is renamed into “Vereinigte Papierwarenfabriken”. At that time VP is the biggest Bavarian enterprise in its line of business.
1906VP “invents” the carrier bag and applies for a utility model at the German Reich Patent Office under number 283 523.
1955Only 10 years after the war VP is rebuilt and employs already 600 people.
1974The foundation stone for a central production location is laid in Feuchtwangen. 10 commercial units from various locations are all united under one roof within the following years. The division Medical Packaging (Stericlin) is established.
1978Flexible Packaging is brought into being.
1992ISO 9001 certification.
1996Celebration of 100th company anniversary.
1998Establishment of Indicator Systems B.V in Venlo, the Netherlands, as another production location.
2001The group is restructured by implementing the VP Holding and a business unit structure.
2004VP Polska in Zagan, Poland, is established as a third production site.
2005A sales-office in Shanghai, China, is opened.
2006Modernization of the Feuchtwangen site.
Extensive redevelopment of the administrative building.
Modernization of the technical infrastructure.
2007Expansion and modernization of Logistics.
2008FSC® and ISO 14001 certification.
2009Implementation of SAP at all locations.
2010Acquisition of an additional production hall in Feuchtwangen
2011Establishing VP Packaging Ltd and a new production plant in Kettering, England
