As an intergenerational family-owned company, we take a long-term view. Environmental, social and economic responsibility are consistently integrated into our strategy and all our business decisions.
For many years, we have been making targeted investments in climate and environmental protection measures in order to continuously reduce our CO₂ emissions and alleviate the burden on the environment in the long term. In doing so, we aim to continuously improve our processes and products and to permanently reduce our environmental footprint.
To document our commitment in a transparent and verifiable manner, we have undergone independent EcoVadis certification. Furthermore, as part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), we have set ourselves scientifically robust and ambitious climate targets. In doing so, we are committing to reducing our emissions in a measurable way over the long term and to consistently expanding our contribution to climate protection.
Our climate targets for 2030
For us, responsibility means setting measurable targets and pursuing them consistently. That is why our climate targets have been successfully validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). They are based on the base year 2022 and are in line with the scientific requirements for limiting climate change.
By 2030, we will reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as follows:
- 42% for Scope 1 and Scope 2
- 25% for Scope 3
These objectives form the binding framework for our climate and sustainability management and drive the continuous development of our processes, products and value chain.
Our journey continues
For us, sustainability is an ongoing process of development. With clearly defined targets and concrete measures, we are working consistently to further reduce our environmental footprint and to expand our climate strategy in a sustainable manner.
Our next steps include:
- Improving energy efficiency through the continuous development and implementation of targeted measures to reduce our energy consumption.
- Greater involvement of our suppliers to jointly reduce emissions along the value chain and achieve our climate targets.
- Recalculating the product carbon footprint of all materials used as a sound basis for further reduction measures and sustainable product development.
- Actively involving our employees through their ongoing participation in our workplace suggestion scheme, so that we can drive forward innovation and sustainable improvements together.
With these measures, we are laying the foundations for responsible corporate development and making a measurable contribution to greater climate protection – today and in the future.
